Critical 240 KVA UPS Power Replacement — GC Building

GC Building — Tripling mission-critical power capacity to 240 KVA under a 5-minute live cutover ceiling.

Critical 240 KVA UPS Power Replacement — GC Building

Project Overview & Context

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) contracted Black Stone to replace and upgrade the main UPS power infrastructure of its vital Grand Cairo (GC) administration building, elevating capacity from an aging 80 KVA system to dual high-efficiency 120 KVA units (240 KVA total).

This critical facility houses core bank servers and operational command systems powering transactions across Egypt branches, making power reliability an absolute mission-critical priority.

The High-Stakes Challenge

The maximum permissible complete power shutdown window was capped at exactly 5 minutes. During live switchover on site, a severely damaged auxiliary component was identified on the main electrical board that posed an immediate failure risk.

Real-Time Crisis Resolution

Under the direct leadership of Eng. Abdou Hasaballah, Black Stone’s electrical engineers executed rapid emergency diagnostics, rebuilt the connection bypass, and brought the new 240 KVA system online with bank executives on site — achieving full live cutover with zero data loss and zero banking downtime.
